Our Update #6
New Dror Offices for Fresh Hope and Help for Prisoners
The indefatigable volunteers at Dror recently moved into their new, more spacious offices in Brooklyn, New York.
In their new headquarters, Dror has many small, specialized rooms, each one designated for a specific and vital task.
- One office is designated for all of the Torah programs for prisoners: The inmates kollel, sefarim and other religious articles that are sent to suffering Jews in prison.
A second office is designated as the center and pulse for all of the kosher food packages sent to incarcerated Jews.
Yet a third room is devoted for Jews who are not yet interned (hopefully they won’t be!), to come and receive concrete legal advice from lawyers and Dror activists.
A fourth and vital office mans the emergency calls received from terrified callers to the Dror Hotline Help number.
The fifth and final office is an impressive conference room where the devoted Dror activists meet with experts and lawyers to discuss complicated issues, programs and undertakings.
Dror is planning a chanukah habayis in the near future. Friends and supporters of Dror that would like to merit the important and special mitzvah of pidyon shevuyim (redeeming Jewish prisoners) by dedicating one of the new offices should contact Dror.
We at Dror fervently hope and pray that local Jews and those the world over will no longer have a need for our services. Yet until that day arrives, we will do everything and anything to assist our imprisoned brethren.
